`MY THORN MY THORN There's a thorn in my flesh, that keeps bringing me down. There's a thorn in my soul, that keeps coming around. The harder I fight it, the closer it nears. As I pray for deliverance, my thorn reappears. The sins of my past, are all dead and gone. But this thorn in my flesh, is still hanging on. I keep reading the word, and I pray everyday. That this thorn in my flesh, will be taken away. But your answer is silent, my thorn will not flee. When you answer, My Grace, is sufficient for thee. My flesh and my spirit, keep waging their wars. Though my spirit stays strong, the lion still roars. Still consumed by my failure, I look to the Cross. And ask your forgiveness, this battle I've lost. Please help me prevail Lord, when temptation is born. And please show me the secret, to conquer this thorn. If I resist that old Devil, you say that he'll flee. Because great is your Spirit, that lives within me. If I will humble myself, in the Lord's precious sight. He will lift me on up, and out of the night. If I draw close to you, and I humbly submit. You will rescue your child, from out of the pit. But to he that knows right, and lets the wrong win. His faith has been wavered, to him it's a sin. Lord build up my courage, and help me to stand. As this thorn in the flesh, keeps sweeping my land. I now trust and believe you, and stand on your words. Your scripture breathes life, my spirit is stirred. I have claimed total freedom, now victory is mine. Turning over my thorn, to your Glory Divine. I will walk in the truth, as I ready my sword. As I humbly submit, to Jesus my Lord.  |
